For MLK weekend my sweet friend Jordan and I decided to escape the Dallas winter and pack our favorite resort wear for the warm beaches in Cancun, Mexico. A hotel booked, we were all set for our weekend getaway. As I sat on my plane Saturday morning waiting for takeoff, I could already feel the warm sand and sunny rays. Sadly that dream was quickly interrupted by a series of mechanical and aircraft issues that ended up canceling what seemed to be a perfect weekend.
While the realization was not the easiest to digest, I made the most of the last minute cancellation and headed home to sunny AZ for a weekend of family fun and a little retail therapy. This weekend taught me that although last minute hiccups can be devastating at the time, you always have to keep your chin up and look for the good. I was safe and headed home to be with some of my favorite people in the world...what more can you ask for?
Needless to say, MLK weekend was unexpected but the correct ticket for this winded girl! Hope everyone else enjoyed their 3 day weekend.
