A New York Minute

The Big Apple.

Last weekend I jetted off to NYC to visit two friends from TCU. This trip was one I have been looking forward to from the second both  Kara and Caroline made the move up to the northeast. I had never visited this magical city but boy did it leave an impression on me.

First off, for anyone traveling to NYC many believe it's best to fly into JFK or LGA.  While I did not have that option, I flew into Newark and took a shared ride Super Shuttle. Significantly cheaper than a taxi or uber this is the way to go. In less than 35 min we had arrived in Manhattan.

On Saturday we started the day with a wonderful breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien. This cute cafe was right around the corner from Kara and Caroline's place on the Upper East Side and has such charm. If you're looking for a faster option Pick a Bagel has various locations across the city and their bagels and goodies hit the spot. First up on our weekend tour was Rockefeller Center. A quick elevator ride to the top and we were able to see the entire city. I highly recommend this visit to the top for anyone like me who either hasn't been to the city or has limited time on their visit. In addition you must check out some of the amazing shopping this city has to offer. We made various stops at Barney's, ZARA, Paper Source, Buffalo Exchange, and a few other small boutiques.

On Sunday we took a lovely stroll through Central Park where we identified numerous scenes from some of our favorite chick flicks. The Boat House Cafe was absolutely stunning and while we didn't have time to get in a row boat of our own I would definitely urge anyone to rent one for an hour. Of course we needed some energy throughout the day and re-fueled with macaroons from Laduree and Ice Cream from various street vendors. Heads up, most of these vendors only take cash. I knew my NYC trip wouldn't be complete without channeling my inner Gossip Girl. A quick meeting on the steps of the met and we felt like the new queens of the Upper East Side.

You know you love me
